installation, manufacturing, and maintenance.
Ruggles Sign has
a wonderful opportunity for an Estimator at our facility located in Versailles,
KY, and we are looking for a creative, motivated, and detailed individual to
join our Team!
The job entails
the following:
Job
Summary:
The ideal candidate will prepare accurate estimates for various sign
projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. The
candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset and
must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key people. This
is a critical role for the company, as the Estimator often serves as the
initial point of contact for clients and vendors, therefore the role requires
strong professional communication skills and technical expertise.
Job Duties
Receive and track bid
and estimate requests for potential projects.
Understand the project
and its requirements.
Develop estimates and
bids for potential projects.
Complete takeoffs from
bid documents
Research products and
materials as necessary.
Determine
key variables for cost and other estimates.
Conduct research to
obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
Use software for data
analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
Obtain and review offers
and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
Create and submit
estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, etc.
Build relationships with
key vendors (i.e. subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)
Provide consultation on
project planning (i.e. schedules, manpower needs, etc.
Communicate with project
managers, production managers, production staff, and installers to determine
costs.
Communicate with
contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients as necessary to obtain
additional project information and clarify scope of project.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s
Degree
Proven experience as an
estimator or similar position; 2-3 years’ experience is preferred.
Experience with sign
work, graphics, custom fabrication, millwork, exhibit/display, or another
related field is also preferred.
Knowledge of materials
and fabrication methods
Ability to read
architectural and engineering drawings and interpret specification documents.
Demonstrated
ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, working directly with
clients, contractors, and vendors to win bids, build relationships, and
maintain profitability.
Excellent
organizational skills: ability to manage multiple urgent deadlines and track
progress on potential project opportunities.
Strong
attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task

creative, and tactful mindset
Outstanding
communication and negotiation abilities
Proficient
in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
